School Bus Carrying Kindergarten Teachers and Students Crashes Into Tree, Road Transport Department Launches Safety Inspection

(Kuala Lumpur, 3rd) Following the recent accident involving a bus carrying kindergarten teachers and students near Persiaran Universiti 1, near Universiti Putra Malaysia, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) will conduct a safety inspection and audit (JISA) on the bus company involved.
The director of the department, Datuk Aidi, stated that the JPJ received the accident report yesterday and has now referred the case to the police for further investigation.
He told Bernama when approached today: “JPJ will conduct a safety check and audit on the bus company involved, and further action will be taken after receiving the audit report.”
Yesterday, Serdang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Farid, reported that the accident occurred at about 12:18 noon, involving a bus carrying 5 teachers and 30 kindergarten children.
According to dashcam footage circulating widely on social media, the bus suddenly lost control while driving, then skidded and crashed into a tree.
The accident resulted in head injuries to three children and one teacher, all of whom received outpatient treatment at Serdang Hospital, while the bus driver has been detained to assist in investigation under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987 (reckless and dangerous driving).
