Galong anak Luang has been appointed as the Miri Resident effective today, 2 January 2025. He replaces former Resident Haji Jamalie Bin Haji Busri.
Galong, 54, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Universiti Putra Malaysia and served in Miri from 2004 to 2008. He previously served as the Kapit Resident.
During a meeting with senior officers at the Miri Division Administration today, he was optimistic in ensuring that the development agenda in Miri Division continues by emphasizing the aspects of integrity and professionalism as outlined in the Six Shared Values of the Sarawak Public Service.
In addition, he also emphasized the spirit of working as a team to ensure that the people can enjoy development through the Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS 2030) formulated by the Sarawak government to achieve a developed region by 2030.
Earlier, Galong spent time visiting and getting to know all the staff of the Miri Division Resident's Office and socializing with the Miri Division community leaders at the Miri Community Leader's Office.
