Chinese Embassy in Israel Urges Chinese Citizens in Israel to Move to Safe Areas for Protection

The Chinese Embassy in Israel has issued a notice urging Chinese citizens in Israel to transfer themselves as soon as possible to safe areas within Israel for protection, or to evacuate to Egypt for safety, provided security can be ensured.


According to the WeChat official account 'Yi Guan Wei Jia' early Sunday morning (March 1), the Chinese Embassy in Israel released a notice regarding the registration of transfers and evacuations of Chinese citizens in Israel. The notice stated that Israel is continuously under attack from missiles and drones, the security situation is critical, and further deterioration cannot be ruled out.


The notice further advised that Chinese citizens in Israel, on the premise of ensuring safety, should transfer themselves as soon as possible to safe areas within the country for protection, or evacuate to Egypt via the Taba border crossing.

The notice also stated to stay away from Tel Aviv, Haifa, central Jerusalem, military units, sensitive institutions, airports, seaports, wharves, train stations, light rail transit and other large transport hubs, as well as government agencies and critical infrastructure such as power plants, refineries, and communication centers.


The notice continued that starting from Sunday, the Chinese Embassy in Israel is opening registration for those who cannot arrange their own evacuation but wish to evacuate to Egypt. Specific arrangements will be communicated one-on-one by phone or WeChat. Registrants must hold a Chinese passport, including Hong Kong SAR passports, Macau SAR passports, or Taiwan Compatriot Permits.

On Saturday (February 28), the United States and Israel jointly launched a military strike against Iran. After being attacked, Iran fired several ballistic missiles at Israel and at countries with U.S. military facilities including Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
