Hundreds of Boeing 737 MAX Aircraft Require Seat Installation Corrections

Published at Jul 28, 2026 04:26 pm
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated on the 27th that seats on hundreds of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft registered in the United States have been improperly installed and must be corrected.

The FAA said that if not rectified, these seats could cause passenger injuries in the event of an emergency landing.

Up to 453 aircraft are affected, and authorities have ordered manufacturer Boeing to address the issue.

The FAA indicated that this means, in the event of increased loads, turbulence, or an emergency landing, the seat assemblies could detach from their tracks.

The FAA did not specify how quickly airlines need to fix this problem.
