(Kuching, 3rd) In conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year, the JCI Siniawan Chapter launched its 2026 Community Care Program on January 31, providing essential aid to about 200 residents of Kampung Sadir.
This event, themed "Sharing Joy – Vision for the Future," distributed 41 pairs of customized prescription glasses to local elders and children, aiming to improve their eyesight, enhance their self-care abilities, and raise their overall quality of life.
Event organizing chairperson Jess Chong stated that this initiative embodies JCI Siniawan Chapter's 2026 theme of "Just Connect," emphasizing closer collaboration between youth, the community, government, and local businesses.
She said: "Our goal is not just planning, but taking action. Building a better Sarawak is a shared responsibility, and youth must be a part of the solution."
Chapter president Justine Yong added that this event highlights the significant role youth-led organizations can play in driving sustainable, people-centered community development.
The JCI Siniawan Chapter also expressed gratitude to all volunteers and partners for their contributions in fundraising and support, and encouraged the public to continue participating in charity programs that benefit underprivileged communities.
