Hyun Bin & Jung Woo-sung: Dual Male Gods Join Forces
The crime thriller K-drama 'Korea Made' is led by top stars Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung, teamed with 'Drug King' director Woo Min-ho and the production team behind '12.12: The Day', transporting viewers straight to the volatile 1970s.
Even before filming began, the drama created buzz thanks to the dream pairing of Hyun Bin × Jung Woo-sung. The two male gods finally share the screen as dual leads, with Hyun Bin sporting sharp suits and slicked-back hair for a dark, icy aura praised by Korean netizens, perfectly contrasted with Jung Woo-sung’s calm and deep presence. The tug-of-war between the two, from power struggles to psychological battles, is regarded as a major highlight of this drama!
Hyun Bin plays the ambitious “Baek Gik Dae,” while Jung Woo-sung is the righteous prosecutor “Jang Geon Yeong” determined to take him down. When asked why he accepted the role, Hyun Bin said the unique blend of era background and fictional elements created a fresh and solid story: “That was the main reason I chose to take part in this project.” He added that each character has his or her own story and also shares common ground: “The most fascinating aspect is the emotions born out of conflicting desires—I hope viewers can appreciate and enjoy that through this series.”

Jung Woo-sung plays a prosecutor with animalistic instincts and a terrifying obsession with the case.
This drama marks the reunion of Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung with director Woo Min-ho after their previous cooperation on the film ‘Harbin.’ Director Woo shared: “They played independence fighters together in ‘Harbin’ and already developed a great synergy. On the set of ‘Korea Made,’ everyone often dined together and had a few drinks after wrapping up to discuss how to make the drama even better.” Hyun Bin also laughed and said: “We often exchanged ideas on set, and the director was always receptive to our creative suggestions. He would make quick decisions—if he didn’t like something, he’d reject it immediately. This made the shooting process very smooth and created a great environment for collaboration.”
Jung Woo-sung added that works set in the modern era typically focus on how individuals are swept up by events, “But ‘Korea Made’ constructs a fictional story based on historical facts, using its characters’ desires, pursuits, and survival instincts to portray the true face of humanity in extreme circumstances. It’s a very distinctive series, and I believe viewers will find it truly captivating.”
