Gao Weiguang and Liang Jingkang Embark on a Fantastic Relic Adventure

A modest shop, a single step spans a thousand years. Adapted from Xuan Se's novel of the same name, the Chinese fantasy drama 'Yashe' is directed by Zhao Qichen, with Wu Zimo serving as chief screenwriter. Starring Gao Weiguang, Liang Jingkang, Zhang Miaoyi, and Mao Xiaohui, the story narrates how a mysterious antique shop owner and a contemporary veterinarian become partners, embarking together on a time-traveling quest to recover ancient artifacts.

Gao Weiguang portrays the mysterious antique shop owner.
Gao Weiguang’s role as 'Bi Zhi', the owner of the antique shop, is far from ordinary. From his role as Donghua Dijun in the 'Eternal Love' series to the immortal in 'Yashe', Gao Weiguang once again takes on the challenge of portraying a 'legend that never grows old'. Beneath his cold and stern exterior lies a deep obsession with his old friend 'Fusu' (also played by Liang Jingkang); a single glance from him is enough to make one’s spine tingle. The aura of vicissitude he exudes, as someone who has weathered thousands of years, is unmatched.

Liang Jingkang plays 'Su Beilu', who on the surface is a modern veterinarian, but in reality is the reincarnation of Fusu, son of the King of Qin! He completely breaks away from his previously fresh and youthful image; this time, he interprets a dual personality traversing both past and present lives, merging gentleness with healing warmth and suppressed sorrow for a truly challenging performance. Meanwhile, rising stars Zhang Miaoyi and Mao Xiaohui join the cast playing distinctly different roles: the quirky and mischievous 'Miao Tong' and the enigmatic and cool 'Ye Liangyin'. Their characters’ fates are closely intertwined with those of the leads, hiding unknown secrets and connections in the background.

Liang Jingkang will interpret a dual personality traversing past and present lives—a major challenge to his acting skills.
The core charm of this series lies in breathing blazing life into cold antiques. Using the 'retrieval of ancient artifacts' as its narrative mainline, the show constructs a magnificent tapestry interwoven with multiple timelines. In the show, the antique shop Yashe acts like a 'magic door', linking ancient and modern times; the time travel setting gives the series a distinct style. From the bustling streets of the 21st century, to the misty south of the Republic era, to ancient dynastic courts and the world of xianxia fantasy, audiences follow this 'trans-temporal duo' as they immerse themselves in the various cultures and customs of different eras. The shift from modern urban prosperity to ancient political machinations, to the odd tales of the Republic of China and ethereal xianxia realms, not only offers refreshing visual variety but gives each era's stories a unique flavor—composing a grand tableau of characters crossing thousands of years.
