Israeli Airstrikes on Lebanon: 47 Dead, 97 Injured

Published at Jun 20, 2026 04:12 pm
Lebanon erupted in fierce clashes again on the 19th, with authorities reporting that Israeli airstrikes caused 47 deaths, while Israel announced the loss of four soldiers.

Despite U.S. officials stating that Israel and Hezbollah had agreed to a ceasefire, hostilities between the two sides have not eased, making this the most serious round of conflict since the U.S. and Iran facilitated a Middle East truce agreement.

According to data released by the Lebanese Ministry of Health, from midnight to the afternoon of the 19th, Israel launched intensive airstrikes on multiple regions in Lebanon, resulting in at least 47 deaths and 97 injuries.

The Israel Defense Forces stated on the same day that, due to multiple ceasefire violations by Hezbollah, the military struck over 80 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon over the previous night, killing dozens of Hezbollah members.

AFP television footage showed hundreds of vehicles crowding the streets of Sidon, Lebanon, as residents tried to flee southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese Presidential Palace declared: “This is in effect an attack on all ongoing efforts to reach a ceasefire and end the war.”

U.S. officials, including former President Trump, have also recently expressed dissatisfaction with Israel's military operations in Lebanon.
