Corpse Raped for 30 Minutes in NYC Subway Car; Man Sentenced to 5 Years

A horrific corpse rape occurred in Manhattan’s subway last year. A 44-year-old male undocumented immigrant discovered an unconscious person in the train car and, shockingly, pulled down his pants and assaulted the body for over 30 minutes. On the 17th, Manhattan Supreme Court sentenced him to five years in prison, followed by 15 years of supervision after his release.

The crime took place on April 8, 2025, when 37-year-old Gonzalez boarded the subway, lost consciousness, and collapsed on a seat, dying near the Whitehall Street station. Nearly three hours later, the defendant, Felix Rojas, a Mexican national residing in Brooklyn, boarded the train, found Gonzalez unresponsive, and proceeded to search his belongings and sexually assault him. Rojas even moved the victim's body to the floor, forcibly removed his pants, and raped the corpse.

After the crime, Rojas pulled the victim’s pants back up and calmly sat back on the bench to avoid detection. Shortly after, transit police discovered the corpse—with Rojas still inside the subway car.

Three weeks after the incident, Rojas saw authorities had released surveillance footage. He then turned himself in, accompanied by his son. He admitted, “that’s me” in the footage, but maintained, “I didn’t do that kind of thing.” He accepted a plea deal and remained silent throughout the sentencing.

When turning himself in, Rojas handed over a non-U.S. passport. A spokesperson for Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed he is an illegal immigrant who had repeatedly attempted to cross the U.S.-Mexico border illegally.
