(Bandar Seri Begawan, 11th) In order to raise the Brunei public’s awareness of human trafficking crimes and further strengthen measures to combat such crimes, the Human Trafficking Investigation Unit (USPM) of the Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) under the Royal Brunei Police Force (PPDB) held a mobile briefing at Jalan Kebangsaan for 22 staff members of the Embassy of the Philippines in Brunei.
The main purpose of this briefing was to educate and enhance the participants’ understanding of ways to identify potential victims of human trafficking.
Law enforcement agencies and frontline organizations are advised to remain vigilant and identify individuals who may have been lured and exploited as victims of human trafficking.
The embassy, as a relevant institution, plays a crucial role in addressing human trafficking issues and contributes to the efforts in preventing and combating such crimes together with the Anti-Trafficking in Persons agency.
