KUALA LUMPUR, July 29 (Bernama) -- The Mega 3D Carnival (MK3D), to be held from tomorrow until Sunday at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), is expected to attract around two million visitors.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the carnival is set to drive rural entrepreneurship development through the involvement of the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW), the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda), and the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (KUSKOP).
“We are targeting transaction values of up to RM209 million, covering cash sales, entrepreneur financing, and potential business matching,” he told reporters after inspecting the final preparations for the carnival today.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also Minister of Rural and Regional Development, said MK3D brings together three key initiatives — the Rural Entrepreneurs Carnival (KUD), Felda Settlers’ Day, and the One District One Industry (SDSI) Showcase — on one holistic platform.
“This enables rural entrepreneurs to access a wide range of support, including financing, training, business matching, certification and export markets in an integrated manner,” he said.
He said the integrated approach not only optimises resources and avoids programme overlap, but also reduces government expenditure and offers a comprehensive experience for visitors and investors.
“The participation of more than 1,000 entrepreneurs from across the country will strengthen the rural entrepreneurship ecosystem and support the aspirations of the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP), particularly in empowering the Bumiputera and rural economy.
“We are not only looking at the domestic market but also exploring international potential,” he said.
