The Crown Prince is also the Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and patron of the Creative, Innovative Product and Technological Advancement (CIPTA) Awards.
Upon arrival at the International Convention Centre, he was warmly welcomed by Minister of Development Dato Juanda, UTB Vice Chancellor Datin Hajah Zohrah, and Brunei LNG Managing Director and CEO Eddie Rieay.
At the event, a video showcased the journey, achievements, and milestones of the Crown Prince CIPTA Awards over the past twenty years.
Chair of the Technical Committee, Dr. Pg Rafidah, introduced the overall evaluation by the panel leadership of CIPTA 2025.
CIPTA 2025 introduced a new Special Award for Sustainable Energy, highlighting the competition's commitment to environmental innovation and green technology.
This award aims to recognize outstanding projects that demonstrate excellence in applications of sustainable energy, renewable technology, or energy efficiency solutions.
All winning teams in every category received cash prizes, medals, commemorative trophies, and certificates of achievement.
After announcing the list of winners, the Crown Prince presented prizes, trophies, medals, and certificates to winners in the local, Smart Junior Competition, and ASEAN categories.
The 2025 CIPTA conference acknowledged an extraordinary achievement, with one innovation being awarded the prestigious 2025 Crown Prince's Special Award.
This award was presented to Law Kah Haw and Mohammad Asri of Universiti Teknologi Brunei, for their winning innovation titled "A New Filterless Single-Source Cascade Boost Multilevel Inverter for Renewable Energy and Industrial Applications."
The Crown Prince also presented the Grand Prize trophy, cash rewards, and certificates to those who won the CIPTA Special Award and the Special Sustainable Energy Award.
