At around 10:40 am on the 6th, a fire broke out at Gansu Jinte Chemical Co., Ltd., located in the chemical industry park of Yumen City, Gansu Province, China, resulting in 3 deaths and 2 minor injuries.
The accident occurred in a plant building belonging to the company, which has a reinforced concrete structure and three stories in total. After the accident, local authorities quickly organized firefighting and rescue efforts. At 12:14 pm on the 6th, the open flames at the scene were extinguished; at 12:57 pm, the site search and rescue operations were completed.
The two injured are lightly hurt and in stable condition. They are currently receiving treatment. The relevant persons responsible from the involved enterprise have been lawfully detained by public security authorities, and the cause of the accident is under further investigation. The follow-up arrangements and investigation into the cause of the accident are proceeding in an orderly manner.
At present, relevant departments in Gansu Province are conducting risk and hazard assessments of chemical enterprises within the province to firmly prevent the recurrence of similar accidents.
