The 18th Asian Film Awards held a press conference yesterday (10/1), announcing that the jury president will be superstar Sammo Hung, and also revealed the nominees for all categories. Among them, 'City of Darkness' received 9 nominations, including Best Film and Best Supporting Actor, with the awards ceremony set to take place on March 16th.
This year's Asian Film Awards cover 30 outstanding films from 25 countries or regions, competing for 16 awards. The Korean film 'Grave Breaking' garnered as many as 11 nominations, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Actress.
As for the Hong Kong martial arts film 'City of Darkness,' it also became a highlight with 9 nominations, including Best Film, and Max Zhang was nominated for Best Supporting Actor. Regarding Best Actor, Hong Kong films have Michael Hui from 'Breakout: Hell' and Sean Lau from 'Papa' competing.
