Wan Nian-Yan state assemblyman, Abdul Yakub, stated that the Royal Malaysia Police play an important role in maintaining national security.

He made these remarks yesterday afternoon while attending the "2026 Mukah District Police Headquarters 219th Police Memorial Day Ceremony" at the multipurpose hall of the Mukah District Police Headquarters.
Meanwhile, Mukah District Police Chief Muhammad stated that all parties need to cooperate with each other.
"Collaboration among everyone is critical to combating crime in our district. The Mukah District Police Headquarters will always maintain an open attitude and be ready to work together at any time."
"It is hoped that the spirit of 'teamwork,' cooperation, harmony, and mutual respect will continue to flourish throughout the process of providing the best service to the public."
The ceremony also featured promotions for three police officers, retirement tributes for four officers, and the awarding of certificates of appreciation to two recipients.
Also present at the event were Royston Valentine, Peleadzman Ahip, and Yalin Asan.
