Establishment of the Southeast Asian Chapter of the World Chinese Association Brings New Momentum to China-Malaysia Cooperation

The annual meeting of the World Chinese Association and the establishment of the Southeast Asian Chapter of the World Chinese Association were grandly held in Malaysia recently. This event has injected new momentum into the continuous development of friendly relations among Southeast Asian countries and made a greater contribution to the friendly relations between China and Malaysia.

This grand occasion coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, which has received high attention and great support from the governments of both countries. State dignitaries, business leaders, representatives of Chinese community associations, as well as Chinese business leaders, art masters, and cultural celebrities from China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, India, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Canada, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and other countries and regions gathered together to witness this historic moment.

Malaysia's Minister of Transport, Loke Siew Fook, delivered a speech to warmly congratulate the establishment of the Southeast Asian Chapter of the World Chinese Association, and emphasized the significant contribution of the Chinese community to Malaysia's economic and social development. He pointed out that China-Malaysia relations are currently at their best in history, and the establishment of the Southeast Asian Chapter of the World Chinese Association will provide a broader platform for bilateral economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges. Thus, the establishment of the Southeast Asian Chapter is timely and will inject new vitality and momentum into the friendship between China and Malaysia, and the peace, prosperity, and stability among Southeast Asian countries.

Datuk Seri Cheng Wanqi, founding president of the World Chinese Association, in his speech, reviewed the development history of the association. He stated that Southeast Asia is one of the regions with the most concentrated distribution of Chinese and has enormous economic potential and rich cultural resources. By establishing the Southeast Asian Chapter in Malaysia, the aim is to better unite and serve local Chinese, promote the development of the Chinese economy and the inheritance of culture, and make greater contributions to the friendly relations between China and Malaysia.

The President of the World Chinese Association, He Zhao, warmly congratulated the establishment of the Southeast Asian Chapter of the World Chinese Association. He stated that the establishment of the Southeast Asian Chapter in Malaysia not only provides a platform for unity and development for local Chinese but also injects new momentum into the sustained development of friendly relations among Southeast Asian countries. "I believe that with everyone's joint efforts, the friendly relations among Southeast Asian countries will continue to achieve new milestones, bringing more benefits to the people of all countries."

Vice President of the World Chinese Association and Chairman of the Southeast Asian Chapter, Hao Jinling, stated that the Southeast Asian Chapter will actively contribute wisdom and strength in areas such as uniting Chinese and overseas Chinese, promoting Chinese civilization, disseminating Chinese culture, and advancing world peace and friendship. Additionally, it will strive to "move forward hand in hand, creating a better future" around areas such as Chinese economic development, cultural heritage and innovation, and international economic and trade cooperation.

During the establishment ceremony, Kuala Lumpur Cheras Member of Parliament and Advisor to the Southeast Asian Chapter of the World Chinese Association, Tan Kok Wai, along with several political leaders and business leaders, sent congratulatory messages expressing their heartfelt blessings and deep expectations. At the banquet, attending guests expressed their intention to work together to make greater contributions to the peace and prosperity of the region and the world.

Hao Jinling hopes that the Southeast Asian Chapter will make greater contributions in the fields of uniting Chinese and overseas Chinese, promoting Chinese civilization, disseminating Chinese culture, and advancing world peace and friendship.
