(Bandar Seri Begawan, 4th) In celebration of His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah’s 80th birthday, the Mukim Berakas B Consultative Council, in collaboration with Masma Secondary School, Kampong Sungai Akar Consultative Council Zone 1 and Zone 2, held a flag raising ceremony at the Masma Secondary School Hall in Kampong Sungai Akar.
The ceremony aimed to express gratitude, loyalty, and respect to His Majesty, as well as to celebrate His Majesty’s birthday.
In addition, the organizers were committed to instilling patriotism among the residents of Berakas Zone 2, strengthening community unity, and fostering love for religion, the King, and the country.
The event’s guest of honor was Member of Parliament and Village Head of Kampong Beribi, Haji Daud.
Attendees included Member of Parliament Liu Xiaode, village heads of Mukim Berakas A and B, members of the Mukim and Village Consultative Councils, school principals, teachers, staff, representatives from schools around Kampong Sungai Akar, as well as students and villagers, with the total number of attendees around 1,000.
The ceremony began with Mosque Affairs Officer Abdul Ha leading the recitation of Al-Fatihah from the Holy Quran.
Following this, the national flag of Brunei was presented to the guest of honor, after which it was received by Kampong Sungai Akar Zone 1 leader Jenni and Zone 2 leader Mohamad Wafi, who then handed it over to students to complete the flag raising ceremony.
The organizers stated that this flag raising ceremony reflected the Mukim Consultative Council’s continuous commitment to supporting the national agenda through the active participation of the local community and educational institutions.
