(Miri, 5th) Lian Le Secondary School Principal, Jiang Pei Juan, stated that this year’s Chinese New Year lion dance fundraising event successfully raised over RM1 million. This is not only an inspiring figure, but also the result of the concerted efforts of all board members, teachers, and students, showcasing the unity and perseverance of Lianzhong’s people.

She pointed out that the lion dance fundraising has long been an important tradition of Chinese independent schools and is a major pillar supporting the school’s development. While the festive atmosphere of the New Year still lingers and families are gathering, teachers and students have already taken to the streets, beating drums under the scorching sun to raise funds for the school—every bit of effort is worth remembering.

“Every strike of the drum is the embodiment of Lianzhong’s perseverance; every leap is the spirit of never admitting defeat; every thank you carries our gratitude for the support of society.”

She made these remarks last night while delivering a speech at the Chinese New Year Lion Dance Appreciation Banquet held by Lian Le Secondary School at the Donglin Golf Club.

She especially thanked the board members who personally led the fundraising teams this year, willing to put aside their busy affairs to stand shoulder to shoulder with teachers and students, giving great encouragement to the students and further strengthening the team's cohesion.

She hopes that more board members will join in the future, allowing Lianzhong’s development to become steadier and go further.

Jiang Pei Juan also expressed her gratitude to all teachers and students who participated in the lion dance fundraising, acknowledging their hard work and dedication, and emphasizing that Lianzhong is a big family where every member is indispensable.

In addition, she gave special praise to the senior student committee members, who have long devoted themselves quietly on campus, from maintaining order to assisting in the preparation and aftermath of various events, always sticking to their posts—an important pillar of the school.

In sports, she congratulated the athletes who achieved excellent results in the Sarawak Chinese Independent Schools Ball Games, including both the boys’ and girls’ volleyball teams winning championships, the girls’ basketball team taking third place, the boys’ basketball team taking fourth, and the girls’ badminton team also taking fourth. The boys’ and girls’ volleyball teams will go on to represent Sarawak in the National Chinese Independent Schools Ball Games this September and bring honor to the school.

She pointed out that the athletes’ perseverance and fighting spirit during training, as well as the careful guidance and company of the coaches, are also crucial factors in Lianzhong’s success.

At the same time, she also extended her highest respect to all teachers, thanking them for their selfless efforts both inside and outside the classroom. Not only do they teach and nurture students, but they also accompany them as they grow, making them the school's most solid support.

Jiang Pei Juan emphasized that the steady progress of Lianzhong is not by chance, but is the result of every member doing their best in their respective roles. The fundraising efforts for the lion dance, the dedication of the senior student committee, the fighting spirit of the athletes, and the devotion of the teachers together constitute the true portrait of the Lianzhong Spirit.

"As long as everyone works together, Lianzhong’s future will surely be even brighter and stronger."
