US President Trump wrote on social media on the 10th that Iran has requested to continue negotiations with the United States.

Trump said: “We agreed to do so, but the United States has made it absolutely clear to them that the ceasefire is over!”

This week, there have been multiple exchanges of fire between the US and Iran. After Iran targeted and attacked commercial vessels, the US launched retaliatory airstrikes, while Iran also used drones and missiles to attack US assets in various Middle Eastern countries.

As tensions in the Middle East have risen again, media reports indicate that a Qatari delegation, acting as a mediator, arrived in Iran on the 10th to hold talks.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the foreign ministers of Egypt and Qatar jointly called on the United States and Iran to resume negotiations on the 10th.

The statement noted that the two parties urged the “implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed between the US and Iran as a prelude to reaching a final agreement, in order to ease tensions and enhance regional security and stability.”
