On the 27th, U.S. President Trump hosted a policy meeting at the White House regarding post-war planning for Gaza, which was also attended by former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and Trump’s former Middle East envoy, Jared Kushner.
A White House official told the media that Trump, senior White House officials, Blair, and Kushner discussed topics including the Gaza hostage crisis, upgrading the food aid program, and post-war planning.
The official stated that the meeting was a policy meeting, and that Trump and his team regularly hold such meetings.
Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, was also an important adviser on Middle Eastern affairs during Trump’s first term. Blair served as the UK Prime Minister during the 2003 Iraq war.
In addition, the U.S. State Department noted that Secretary of State Rubio met with Israeli Foreign Minister Sa'ar at the State Department on the afternoon of the 27th to discuss issues in Gaza and other regions.
When asked after the meeting about concrete plans for establishing a Palestinian state, Sa'ar responded, "There will not be any plans."
