(Limbang, 28th) Organized by the Sarawak Bisaya Association, the 20th Bisaya Harvest Festival and Buffalo Race of 2025 will be grandly held from July 4 to 7 in Batu Danau.
The Sarawak Bisaya Association stated in a statement that this annual event attracts a large number of tourists from home and abroad every year. This year's Harvest Festival holds special significance as it also marks the 54th anniversary of the Sarawak Bisaya Association.
“The highlight of the Bisaya Harvest Festival will be on Saturday, July 5, 2025, when Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg will personally attend the event, adding luster to the occasion.”
The statement pointed out, “His visit is a great honor for the Bisaya community and a continued support for our efforts to preserve the cultural heritage of the Bisaya people.”
As the largest cultural festival of the Bisaya people, the Bisaya Harvest Festival fully showcases the rich cultural heritage, traditional values, and community spirit.
This year's festival highlights include: the Bisaya Princess and Warrior Beauty Pageant, showcasing the elegance and style of the young Bisaya generation; the buffalo race, which is the annual audience's most anticipated finale; decorated bamboo raft competition, drumming competitions, handicraft exhibitions; traditional food sales; various cultural competitions and folk games.
The statement also mentioned that this event is not only aimed at promoting Bisaya culture but also serves as an important platform for fostering racial harmony, attracting tourism, and promoting the local economic development of the Limbang area.
