Minister of Housing and Local Government, Nga Kor Ming, refused to respond to some people's accusations that he did not personally visit the site of the gas pipe explosion in Putrajaya.

Instead, he stated that the primary task at present is to help the people solve the problems caused by the incident.

Nga Kor Ming emphasized in a press conference on Monday, in response to media inquiries about these accusations, that all relevant departments are playing their respective roles, providing assistance to the affected victims.

He said: "Actually, I feel there is no need to respond to these criticisms. The most important thing is I want to solve the people's problems. So far, we have seen that all departments have already started providing aid."

Nga Kor Ming made these remarks when questioned at a press conference after attending the 14th National Affordable Housing Annual Conference.

He mentioned that the national monarch has already visited the disaster area in person to look after the victims and provided assistance.

"The Ministry of Digital Communications provided tablets and phones; the Ministry of Education provided free bus services; the Selangor State Government and DAP have raised over 100,000 ringgit, all of which will be used to assist the victims."

Nga Kor Ming also assured that all affected households will receive comprehensive government assistance.

"I will meet with the Prime Minister at 11 a.m. today to discuss the best solutions. Once a decision is made, we will make an official announcement."

"Everyone is working hard in their respective positions, and I am personally focused on finding a comprehensive solution, so wait for the official announcement!"

Earlier, some criticisms circulated on social media questioning why Nga Kor Ming did not visit the disaster area, despite the incident occurring in a residential area and involving the welfare of the residents.

In the same press conference, Nga Kor Ming reiterated that the primary goal of the unity government is to ensure people's safety and ensure that all assistance can be delivered to the victims quickly and systematically.

The gas explosion incident that occurred on April 1 affected a total of 219 houses, with another 220 residences confirmed safe and unaffected.

Selangor State Police Chief Datuk Husin stated that this result was obtained after a final on-site assessment of 439 houses within a 325-meter radius of the explosion center conducted by the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, utility companies, and local government.

He pointed out that among these houses, 87 suffered damages exceeding 20%, categorizing them as severely damaged; 132 houses had damages below 20%, categorizing them as lightly damaged.

Husin added that those residences with damage below 20% are permitted to begin repairs starting today, and the authorities will provide the list of affected residences to the relevant homeowners.
