As the site of the gas pipeline explosion in Putra Heights transforms into a water pond, authorities have been actively pumping out the accumulated water over the past few days.
Subang Jaya Police District Chief Assistant Director Wan Aznan told Bernama that last night's heavy rain increased the water accumulation, and law enforcement personnel have been actively draining the water from the site.
"Although the water level at the site has slightly increased, the situation remains under control, and the drainage work is proceeding smoothly."
It is reported that the national police chief, Tan Sri Razarudin, will visit the site command center (PKTK) on Monday (April 7).
Meanwhile, the director-general of the fire and rescue department, Datuk Nor Hisham, confirmed that they have arranged two water pumps at the site, ready for action at any time.
The gas pipeline explosion in Putra Heights has resulted in the destruction of 148 houses, with 38 out of 146 victims receiving medical treatment. Of these, 18 are in government hospitals and 20 in private medical centers, with none in intensive care.
