Rural Wooden House Collapses at Dawn, No Casualties

(Miri, 6th) A rural stilted wooden house in Bekenu, Miri suddenly collapsed early this morning before dawn. Fortunately, there was no one in the house at the time of the incident, and no casualties were reported.
The wooden house was located at Kampung Subak A in Bekenu. It reportedly collapsed at about 5:50am, and within a few short minutes, the entire structure was reduced to rubble.
After receiving an emergency report, the Niah Batu Niah Fire and Rescue Department in Malaysia dispatched their team at 6:45am, traveling approximately 46 kilometers to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters found that the roughly 30-feet by 40-feet stilted wooden house had completely collapsed.
Officials stated that the structure on site was extremely unstable and could not be entered for inspection.
According to the fire department’s assessment, the debris posed a safety hazard, so villagers were advised to stay away from the scene of the incident.
The authorities subsequently cordoned off the area and carried out safety checks to ensure there would be no secondary incidents. No other emergency agencies were involved at the scene.
The entire operation was brought under control within minutes of arrival and concluded at about 8:30am.
The cause of the wooden house collapse is still under investigation.
