A 43-year-old professor named Lin from the Department of Electrical Engineering at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University in Taiwan broke into a musical instrument shop in Hsinchu City with a Rambo knife around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, attacking and killing the 48-year-old store manager surnamed Ji. After committing the crime, Ji died from severe injuries. The suspect, Lin, was emotionally agitated and was subdued by police present at the scene, who fired four shots into his legs to restrain him; this murder case has sparked public outrage!

At the time, the suspect ignored the six adults and four children present in the store and attacked his target directly upon seeing him.

The police acted according to regulations, firing four shots at his legs. Lin fell to the ground, howling in pain, before he was subdued and arrested.

The suspect Lin is the victim's brother-in-law; the two are related by marriage. It is suspected the dispute may have been over management rights of the musical instrument store or a family inheritance, but the real motive is still under investigation.

The suspect Lin has an impressive background; he is Taiwanese, holds U.S. citizenship, studied for his Master's and Ph.D. at the University of Michigan in the United States, and after obtaining his degrees, returned to his alma mater to teach. His expertise and academic focus are both in the current most popular high-tech fields.

After the incident, the victim's wife and parents, accompanied by prosecutors and police, went to the Hsinchu City funeral home on the night of the case to view the body. The detailed cause of death and motive of the crime are still under investigation.
