(Bandar Seri Begawan, 25th) The Wenchung Alumni Association recently held a preparatory meeting to actively prepare for the upcoming 2024 and 2025 Annual Members’ Meeting. The meeting was chaired by President Lin Weifa, with attendees including Vice President Lin Weian, Vice President Lin Dahui, Treasurer Liu Biwen, Secretary Lin Jingyi, Deputy PR Lin Mingchang, and Director Zheng Boxing.

This year's annual meeting is tentatively themed "Unite Alumni Spirit, Create a New Milestone Together," symbolizing the alumni association’s move towards a more vibrant and cohesive new phase while continuing to strengthen its foundation.

It was revealed that the 2024 annual meeting was delayed because it marked the first adjustment period after the new committee took office; many committee members were serving for the first time. Throughout the year, the committee conducted an in-depth review and adjustments to the organizational structure, membership system, event planning, and communication mechanisms. Members unanimously expressed their commitment to continue improving operations with a spirit of learning and innovation, bringing more positive impact to both members and society.

As for 2025, the committee will continue to advance alumni outreach and organize a number of meaningful activities to strengthen alumni cohesion and promote cooperation and interaction with all sectors of society.

Vice President Lin Weian expressed the hope that the annual meeting will allow alumni to better understand the committee’s efforts and plans over the past year, further fostering unity and cooperation among alumni, and jointly contributing to the development of the alma mater and the community.
He pointed out that this meeting is not only a platform for review and outlook, but also an important moment to listen to members’ voices. He hopes more alumni will attend and actively share opinions, so that the alumni association can continue to grow in an open, transparent, and inclusive atmosphere.

At the same time, since 2024, the alumni association has been actively trying to reconnect with alumni from all classes, but as alumni records are still being updated, the committee appeals to all alumni to contact the association proactively to help improve the records and facilitate communication and bonding.

Deputy PR Lin Mingchang mentioned that the association will continue to spread news of its activities via WhatsApp hotline and traditional media, encouraging more alumni and members of the public to learn about and participate in the activities and initiatives of the alumni association.

The committee emphasized that the strength of the association comes from the support and participation of every alumnus, and hopes to attract more young alumni in the future. By encouraging the younger generation to get involved in the running of the association and activity planning, not only is experience passed on, but the alumni association is also revitalized with new energy while continuing the spirit of the alma mater.

President Lin Weifa stated: “The Alumni Association belongs to every alumnus and also serves society. We hope everyone will work together to ensure the continued growth and development of the association.”
He stressed that the committee will uphold principles of transparency and openness, welcoming feedback and suggestions from the public and alumni, in order to continually improve management, strengthen organizational cohesion, and lay a solid foundation for the association’s future in educational support, community service, and cultural heritage.

The date, time, and venue of the annual meeting will be announced separately. All members are welcome to attend and discuss the future direction together.
