(Sibu, 28th) Deputy Prime Minister Dato Amar Fadillah Yusof paid a goodwill visit to Sibu's Masjid Darul Firdaus early yesterday morning and participated in dawn prayers together with local residents.
As Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, Fadillah arrived early to join the community in completing the dawn prayers, further strengthening the bond between leaders and the public.
After the prayers, the mosque's first Imam, Syed Zian, delivered a brief religious exhortation to the congregation, reminding everyone to maintain good conduct in their daily lives.
Afterwards, the chairman of Masjid Darul Firdaus, Junaidi Mohamad Mokhtar, presented a souvenir to Fadillah on behalf of the mosque, witnessed by the chairman of the New Mosque Development Committee, Hamzah A. Beraan, and the Apollo Community Neighbourhood Watch (KRT) chairman, Abang Mohamad Hafiq Abang Kassim.
During the visit, Fadillah was also briefed on the latest progress in the construction of the new mosque. The project aims to replace the existing building and hopes to fully consider the needs of local congregants during planning, so as to provide more comfortable and complete facilities.
He stated that he will continue to monitor and study the project's requirements and promised to provide assistance in the future.
After a simple breakfast in the mosque's multipurpose hall, Fadillah also visited the proposed site of the new mosque for an on-site inspection.
Meanwhile, the mosque management and all congregants expressed their gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister for taking the time to engage with the community, and looked forward to the smooth progress of the new mosque construction plan which they have been awaiting for six years.
