(Miri, 28th) After a long wait of over ten years, pilgrims from Miri have finally been granted the opportunity to perform Hajj, expressing deep gratitude and excitement.
Interviewees generally stated that this chance is a long-awaited blessing, and also an important starting point toward self-improvement.
Among them, Johar Arbi shared that he waited about 17 years before finally receiving the notice for Hajj last year.
"I registered in 2009 and waited about 17 years. I received the notice last November. This is my first time performing Hajj."
He said the Lembaga Tabung Haji organizes training courses every year, usually from October to December.
"My initial plan was just to do the Umrah as preparation, but two or three weeks later, I received the Hajj notification. Since then, I've begun my preparations mentally, physically, and in terms of knowledge."

Another pilgrim, Mariam Monek, also shared her preparations and expectations.
"I registered in 2010, and thank Allah for granting me the opportunity in 2026. Before receiving the notification, I had already completed 13 series of Hajj courses. Afterwards, I further strengthened my knowledge and prepared physically, mentally, and with equipment (such as clothing)."
She said that she hopes the entire Hajj process will go smoothly, and prays for good health, strength, and patience to face various challenges.
The departure of these pilgrims not only fulfills their personal wishes, but also carries their hopes for a smooth Hajj and attaining a "perfect Hajj" (Haji Mabrur).
The first batch of 31 pilgrims departed from Miri Airport on Monday.
