Important Reminders Before Departure for Pilgrims: Focus on Pilgrimage to Strive for a Perfect Hajj

(Limbang, 28th) Pilgrims are urged to make the most of the opportunity during their stay in the Holy Land by focusing on fulfilling their religious obligations in order to achieve a “perfect Hajj” (Haji Mabrur).
Sarawak Deputy Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development, Dato Abdul Rahman Ismail, pointed out that believers selected to perform the pilgrimage this year should seize this rare opportunity to focus on worship and strive for greater rewards.
He stated that as Malaysia’s pilgrimage quota is limited, those given the chance should cherish and make the most of it.
“You should plan properly and fulfill all religious rituals in accordance with the knowledge and training received during previous hajj courses,” he said in his speech at the 2026 (Hijri 1447) Limbang Pilgrims Departure Ceremony held at Limbang Airport yesterday.
In addition, he advised pilgrims to adequately prepare themselves, including maintaining good health to face the hot climate of the Holy Land.
“Pilgrims should pay attention to their health, minimize outdoor activities, stay hydrated, and take timely medication if they feel unwell,” he said.
He noted that the Holy Land is hot and dry, different from the hot and humid environment in Malaysia.
This year, a total of 23 pilgrims from Limbang and 16 from Lawas will perform the hajj, accompanied by two staff members providing assistance.
