(Bandar Seri Begawan, 17th) Brunei's Immigration and National Registration Department (JIPK) announced that two foreign men were prosecuted for violating immigration regulations by overstaying after their passes were revoked, and were found guilty and sentenced by the court.
Among them, a 25-year-old Bangladeshi man, Khalilur Rahman Masum, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 5 months’ imprisonment and 3 strokes of the cane, effective from April 6, 2026.
Another 44-year-old Bangladeshi man, Jahid Ali, also pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 6 months’ imprisonment and 3 strokes of the cane, also effective from April 6, 2026.
