Around 2 a.m. on May 9th, the Kamala Police Station in Phuket, Thailand received a report that four Indian tourists had suddenly fallen unconscious inside a well-known café near Kamala Beach in Kathu District, Phuket. One of them was later pronounced dead, with the cause of death unknown.

Local rescue personnel rushed to the scene and transported three of the individuals to Patong Hospital, while the remaining person was sent to Thalang Hospital.

Investigators from Kamala Police Station revealed that the three Indian men taken to Patong Hospital were in a deep coma and completely unresponsive, while the tourist sent to Thalang Hospital was also unconscious and unresponsive.

The head of security at the café recalled that around 11 p.m. on May 8th, five Indian tourists came to the establishment. At approximately 1:54 a.m. on the 9th, four of these tourists suddenly collapsed one after another for unexplained reasons. The café staff immediately called for emergency assistance. However, the fifth individual remained entirely normal, showing no signs of discomfort. Later, Patong Hospital reported that two of the patients were in extremely critical condition and had been transferred to the better-equipped Vachira Phuket Hospital for emergency care. Around 2:30 p.m. that day, a man named Kushagra Agrawal was pronounced dead, despite rescue efforts.

Police stated that the condition of the remaining patients has since stabilized. The police have also notified the Indian Embassy in Thailand regarding the incident, and a forensic examination is being prepared to determine the cause of the unconsciousness and death as soon as possible.
