(Kuala Lumpur, 29th) Malaysia will continue to firmly maintain its global leadership position in the Islamic economy in 2025, reflecting our country’s strong capabilities in the Islamic financial system, halal industry, innovation, and development ecosystem.
Minister of Housing and Local Government, Nga Kor Ming, stated that according to the “State of the Global Islamic Economy Report 2024/2025” (SGIE Report 2024/2025), our country’s ability to retain its first place globally demonstrates international confidence in Malaysia’s political stability, clear economic policies, and overall development direction.
He said that this ranking also proves that the Malaysia Madani government’s emphasis on good governance, investor confidence, and inclusive development continues to receive recognition at the international level.
“Malaysia’s successful maintenance of its position as the world’s leading Islamic economic entity proves that the Malaysia Madani philosophy has established the nation on a strong, progressive, and internationally respected foundation. This is an achievement attained collectively by all Malaysians, regardless of race or religion.”
Nga Kor Ming, in a statement released on Friday (May 29), pointed out that Malaysia’s ability to surpass several major Islamic countries also highlights our country’s competitiveness in related fields and the high level of trust from the international community.
He said the government will continue to strengthen the national development agenda, including providing quality housing, promoting sustainable urban development, and implementing measures to enhance community well-being, ensuring the fruits of economic growth are more widely shared among the people.
“The Madani government will continue its efforts to ensure that national prosperity can be transformed into public well-being, broader economic opportunities, as well as more inclusive and sustainable development outcomes.”
He also called on citizens to continue to uphold national stability and unity, and support the national development agenda to ensure that Malaysia continues to gain respect on the international stage.
