Bringing Together the Strength of Three Organizations Lin Shuqiang: Creating a Brilliant Future Together

(Miri, 2nd) – Dato Lin Shuqiang, Permanent Honorary Advisor of the Miri Sarawak Lin Clan Association and guest speaker for the event, stated that the Lunar New Year is not only the most important traditional festival of the Chinese people but also carries deep cultural heritage and patriotic feelings. In the new year, the Clan Association should uphold the spirit of the galloping horse, continue to innovate and develop, deepen fine traditions, unite the strength of the three organizations, and jointly create a more brilliant future.

He expressed these sentiments in his speech last night at the “Spring Festival Gallops Forward, Gathering All Lins Together” Lunar New Year Grand Reunion Dinner for the Bingwu Year, organized by the Youth League of the Miri Sarawak Lin Clan Association at the fifth floor banquet hall of the Grand Palace Hotel.

He said that bidding farewell to the old and welcoming the new, clansmen gathering together to celebrate the 2026 Bingwu Year of the Horse is deeply meaningful.

As Malaysian Chinese, we, like Chinese around the world, value Lunar New Year, a traditional festival with over a thousand years of history. The New Year symbolizes hope and rebirth, which is why every household does a thorough cleaning before the New Year, signifying the removal of bad luck and the welcoming of good fortune.

Lin Shuqiang pointed out that the Spring Festival is not only a time for reunion, but also a time for gratitude. We should continue to promote patriotic sentiments and the culture of filial piety, passing down the fine Chinese traditions from generation to generation.

Speaking on the development of the Clan Association, he stated that over the past year, with all clansmen working hand-in-hand and supporting each other, various activities of the association were carried out as scheduled, fully demonstrating everyone's love and dedication towards the Clan Association. This not only enhanced the efficiency of services but also made the Association a warm and vibrant “second home” in the hearts of the members.

He pointed out that the Year of the Horse symbolizes vitality, speed, strength, independence, and a spirit of striving upwards, as well as signifies “being ahead of the pack” and “instant success”, representing career advancement and breakthroughs in self-improvement. This precisely reflects the spirit with which the Miri Sarawak Lin Clan Association has journeyed all along.

“I hope that in the new year, the Clan Association will continue to progress with the vigor of a galloping horse by developing innovative activities and designing even more exciting and diverse directions for development; with the steadiness of an experienced horse, deepen the association’s fine traditions and wholeheartedly serve all members; and, with the force of a herd of galloping horses, unite the strength of its three organizational partners, enabling the Clan Association to stride further and faster on this new journey.”

Lin Shuqiang also stressed that in facing future challenges, the Clan Association must strengthen closer communication and interaction between the leadership and members, break down communication barriers, enhance service efficiency, achieve common goals, and reinforce team cohesion, while gaining deep understanding of the members’ real needs. Only by listening and responding in a timely manner can leaders earn trust and support.

He said that tonight’s gathering is not only a celebration of bidding farewell to the old and welcoming the new, but also a heartwarming time for clansmen of all ages to reunite. He is confident that the newly appointed President, Lin Shuhua, must feel gratified, as she has the trust and support of all members.
