Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid reminded departments, bureaus, or agencies not to work in isolation in promoting entrepreneurial development, especially in Sabah.
He stated that all relevant parties, including the state government and entrepreneurial institutions, must collaborate strategically to effectively implement rural entrepreneurship programs.
"The goal of the current government is to cultivate more micro and small-medium entrepreneurs and further enhance them because everything the government does today is for the benefit of the people. Currently, 17 departments are involved in entrepreneurial development work."
"I urge all parties to avoid working in isolation and to coordinate. I will closely monitor to ensure that there are more entrepreneurs in Sabah."
Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Chairman of the Entrepreneur Development Cabinet Committee and the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, said this on Sunday while attending the closing of the “Tawau Rural Community Care” event.
Additionally, he mentioned that the government would work to improve the salary treatment of Community Development Department (KEMAS) officers and teachers, and transform contract positions into permanent ones.
He has requested the Director General of the Public Service, Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan, and the Director of KEMAS, Datuk Mohamad Hanafi, to discuss implementing this matter.
“Don’t forget the new salary scheme for KEMAS teachers. Previously, KEMAS positions were always contract-based, and I have instructed for these to be converted into permanent positions.”
“Once the current government approves the new salary scheme and permanent positions, I hope the productivity of KEMAS personnel nationwide and in Sabah will be enhanced.”
