(Bau, 27th) The Bau District Police Narcotics Crime Investigation Team, together with officers from the Bau District Police Headquarters (IPD Bau), launched a special operation in the early hours of yesterday and successfully arrested 12 local men aged between 25 and 55.
Bau District Police Chief, DSP Mohd Haide A. Rahman, stated that the operation was conducted from 5:30 am to 8:45 am, covering the areas of Kampung Lidah Tanah, Kampung Peninjau Baru, Kampung Skiat Baru, and Bau town.
He said all those arrested are suspected of involvement in drug abuse activities. Initial urine screenings showed all tested positive for drugs.
"Currently, all suspects have been detained under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for further investigation," he said in a statement today.
The police reiterated their commitment to strictly combat drug abuse activities and urged the public to actively provide information.
