Singapore is a diverse yet united country, and common values and visions closely connect its people. Prime Minister Huang Xuncai stated that he and the new cabinet team will continue to strengthen social relationships and work together to build a shared vision of a "bright society."
Speaking in Malay at the swearing-in ceremony of the new cabinet held at the Istana on Friday, May 23, Prime Minister Huang pointed out that the recently concluded election marks an important moment in the nation's history and signifies a new chapter for Singapore. He expressed gratitude for the people's trust and noted that the governing team has been strengthened, with the promotion of several new members, including representatives from the Malay community, to better serve the nation and its people.
He promised that the government would make every effort to help citizens prepare for the future, seize development opportunities, while also strengthening social solidarity to advance the nation.
Addressing the identity politics of race and religion that emerged during this election, as well as the attempts by foreign forces to interfere, Prime Minister Huang emphasized that Singapore is a country built on the foundation of diversity and unity.
He stated, "Common values and vision are the foundation of our cohesion. Let us continue to stand united and move towards a brighter and better future together."
