China has purchased the largest single order of U.S. soybeans so far this year, continuing the buying momentum of recent weeks.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced on Monday that 488,000 tons of U.S. soybeans from the 2026/27 sales year had been sold to China.
The report also indicated that another 136,150 tons of soybeans were sold to unknown destinations.
This purchase comes as the White House states that China has committed to proportionally purchase $17 billion (approximately 69.666 billion ringgit) worth of U.S. agricultural products by the end of this year, and has further pledged to buy at least 25 million tons of U.S. soybeans annually through 2028.
Soybean futures once fell by 1% to the lowest level since July 10, before recovering losses and turning positive.
