46-year-old Taiwanese drama actor Fu Zichun passed away on the 7th after being rushed to the hospital due to acute leukemia. The tragic news shocked the entertainment industry. His longtime friend Bing Jiaqi, together with friends Gao Xinxin, Fang Xin, Wang Can, and Liao Jiayi, rushed to the hospital immediately upon hearing the news but sadly were unable to see him one last time. Shortly afterward, Bing Jiaqi posted on Facebook, heartbroken, expressing that this joke had gone way too far, and described the pain of touching her friend’s gradually cold body as indescribable. Later, a group of friends also went to the funeral home to chant prayers for him, wishing him a peaceful journey.
It is understood that Fu Zichun had just returned to Taiwan with his wife, Ms. Li, from a vacation in Bali. After a massage there, he developed large patches of bruising on his body that persisted for a long time, and after returning to Taiwan, he was also troubled by severe toothache. Last Friday, unable to bear the pain, he went to the hospital to have a tooth extracted, and at the time did not realize this was actually his body’s cry for help. It wasn’t until the morning of the 7th, when Fu Zichun began to show symptoms of fever and vomiting, that his wife sensed something was terribly wrong and insisted on taking him to the ER.
Upon initial hospital admission, Fu Zichun was still fully conscious and could even respond on his own when asked about intubation—contrary to rumors that he had arrived in shock or a coma. However, his condition soon deteriorated rapidly: his body became restless, he needed to be constrained to the hospital bed, and he suffered from severe breathing difficulties and wheezing. Hospital tests revealed his white blood cell count was abnormally high, and he was diagnosed with acute leukemia. Despite emergency resuscitation by the medical team, he soon fell into a coma and unfortunately passed away.
Fu Zichun’s sudden passing has left his wife of eight years devastated. On the morning of the 9th, Ms. Li posted to Facebook again, revealing that she was finally able to see her beloved husband in a dream the night before. She expressed comfort in seeing him in her dream free of illness and pain, though appearing a bit confused and still trying to understand what happened—just as he did in life, closely following her every move. With strength, she encouraged her husband to proceed at ease to the Pure Land and not to linger because of her: “If you see me cry, please ignore me. This time I don’t want you to stay with me—go do what you need to do.” She also gently comforted her late husband, saying that even though she is deeply heartbroken, she will never blame him. In closing, she sincerely thanked all the elders and friends for their care and support.
