Ng Yan Hei’s Breast Cancer Returns – Passes Away Peacefully in Sleep, Two Daughters Say Goodbye at Bedside

Ng Yan Hei (formerly known as Ng Man Yan), who entered the entertainment industry as a Miss Hong Kong second runner-up, announced the recurrence of her breast cancer two years ago. The disease soon progressed to stage 4, spreading to her lymph nodes, liver, coccyx, and brain. On the 9th, sad news arrived: a statement released on her social media announced that she passed away peacefully in her sleep at the hospital on the morning of the 9th, at the age of 51. She was admitted to the hospital on the night of the 7th. Family and friends came to visit, and her two daughters also said their goodbyes. Her last public appearance was on April 29, when she attended a Grasshopper concert. Jacky Choi, who has been fighting brain cancer, came down from the stage to hug her and kiss her on the cheek. She shouted, “Let’s keep fighting together, stay strong!” Sadly, she still succumbed to cancer.

Ng Yan Hei was diagnosed with breast cancer four years ago. In 2024, the cancer recurred and worsened to terminal stage 4 breast cancer, with mutated cells spreading to her coccyx. Although her condition once improved, things took a turn for the worse. Earlier, she revealed that the cancer had spread to her brain. Due to the constant relapses, her close friends held a living memorial for her in March of this year, which deeply moved her.

In 2011, Ng Yan Hei married financier Chan Kin Ling and had two daughters. In June last year, she revealed in her autobiography Reborn from Love that they had divorced, became friends, and ended their 14-year marriage. Afterwards, Ng Yan Hei sold off old furniture from their beloved home.

Ng’s family posted on social media confirming that Ng Yan Hei passed away peacefully in her sleep at the hospital on the morning of the 9th. They mentioned that she was admitted on the evening of the 7th, and in her final days, family and close friends came to visit. Her two daughters also said their goodbyes. “We believe she left with blessings and love, peacefully returning to the embrace of the Heavenly Father.” The family also stated that arrangements for her funeral will be announced later, and her two daughters will continue to be cared for by their father. They appealed to the public to allow the family space and peace to handle everything and to face this difficult moment.

During her cancer battle, Ng Yan Hei showed great strength and courage, even fulfilling her dream of becoming a singer by releasing the song Rebirth, for which she won the “Metro Hit Awards 2025” Newcomer Award.
