(Marudi, 15th) The Banan Fuzhou Association grandly held the 2026 Elderly Appreciation Banquet, Puyue Plantation 100th Anniversary, and the Association’s 80th Founding Anniversary Banquet on August 14th and 15th at the Marudi Civil Center. The event attracted over 600 representatives from Fuzhou associations across Malaysia, resulting in a lively and meaningful gathering.
Dr. Liu Shiquan, President of the Brunei Ten Districts Fuzhou Association, personally led the delegation to participate in the festivities. The entourage included Secretary-General Liu Kunzhang, Inspector Huang Shunping, Women's League President Fang Xiufei, and others.
Dato' Dong Shixing, President of the Malaysian Fuzhou Association Federation, Liu Gongfu, President of the Sarawak Fuzhou Association Federation, as well as representatives from Fuzhou associations across Malaysia were also present at the banquet, showcasing the unity of the Fuzhou clanspeople.
The banquet featured a rich and varied program. The organizers specially arranged a segment to honor the elderly, with Huang Shunping and his spouse jointly sponsoring the oldest male and female elders, each receiving a gold medal and gold chain as a token of respect.
Sarawak’s renowned champion singer Chen Weilin performed several songs live, with other guests also making cameo appearances, creating a warm and lively atmosphere. The subsequent lucky draw segment further heightened the excitement at the venue.
The organizers stated that this banquet not only celebrated the 100th anniversary of Puyue Plantation and the 80th anniversary of the association, but that the celebratory banquet on the 15th would feature 100 tables, with representatives from Fuzhou associations across the country joining the grand occasion.
The organizing committee pointed out that this event also served to pass down the traditional virtues of filial piety and respect for the elderly, showcasing the unity, mutual help, and gratitude of the Fuzhou people, and marking a historic page for Marudi.
