(Bandar Seri Begawan, 15th) Wang Jian, Chief Representative of China Baowu Steel Group Corporation Limited, led a delegation of 10 to visit the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Bandar Seri Begawan this morning, where they exchanged views with President Lim Han Chiang and board members to explore cooperation opportunities between Brunei and China in the fields of steel, petrochemicals, and related industries.
Wang Jian is also the Manager of Baowu Overseas Business Development Department, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office, and Director of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs Office. He stated that this year, “Grandma’s Love Letter” has drawn much attention and enabled more people to understand the challenges overseas Chinese have experienced while developing in Southeast Asia.
He said that China Baowu hopes to follow this bond to visit the Southeast Asian region and seek new business cooperation opportunities, thus making Brunei one of the destinations for this visit.
Wang Jian pointed out that Brunei is richly endowed with resources, and with ongoing industrial development, there is further space for cooperation in steel and related fields. Both sides can combine their respective advantages to discuss cooperation in the field of steel processing, especially in businesses related to the petrochemical industry, seeking long-term development opportunities through industrial chain complementation.
He said that both parties could further study the possibilities for cooperation in steel processing and related industries in the future.
Wang Jian also stated that, in addition to strengthening exchanges with the local business community, China Baowu’s visit to Brunei aims to better understand the Brunei market and to seek opportunities for overseas business expansion.
