(Bandar Seri Begawan, 15th) The Royal Brunei Police Force has successfully arrested two local male suspects alleged to be involved in a recent residential robbery case in Kampung Tanjung Bunut.
The incident occurred at around 4:30 AM and the victim was a foreign male. The suspects robbed the victim of cash, a mobile phone, and a car, resulting in material losses.
Following an investigation, the police arrested the first suspect on July 30, 2026, and the second suspect on August 13.
This operation was jointly carried out by the Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ), Criminal Intelligence Department (JPJ), Traffic Investigation and Control Department (JSKLL), and the Brunei-Muara Special Task Force Unit.
The police are currently investigating the case under Chapter 22, Section 395 of the Penal Code (gang robbery).
If found guilty, the persons involved can be sentenced to a maximum of 30 years’ imprisonment and no fewer than 12 strokes of the cane.
The police stated that the Public Crime Investigation Bureau will continue to dedicate efforts to combating criminal activities and take stern action against anyone involved in such acts, in order to ensure community peace, safety, and well-being.
At the same time, the police urge the public to proactively cooperate and report any information related to criminal activities to assist with the investigation.
