(Bandar Seri Begawan, 27th) The Sultan of Brunei yesterday attended the 13th ASEAN-US Summit at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, accompanied by Prince Mateen.
At the summit, His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei expressed gratitude for the important relationship between Brunei and the United States, which has lasted for six decades, in promoting peace, stability, and prosperity within and outside the region, including in Gaza as well as between Cambodia and Thailand.
"Peace has always been the cornerstone of ASEAN’s growth and development. Over nearly sixty years, peace has built this region into one of cooperation and progress."
In this regard, the ASEAN-US dialogue partnership remains an important platform for continuing to maintain peace and stability.
"As ASEAN and the United States continue to face increasingly serious threats from cybercrime and cyber fraud, it is urgent to strengthen cooperation in emerging areas, including digital transformation."
His Majesty emphasized that both sides can work together to enhance cyber resilience, protect digital infrastructure and networks, and ensure that the region remains safe and stable in the digital age.
