Hong Kong male star Pakho Chau has recently been busy filming 'Call Me by Fire 2025' and kicking off his 'CHAPTER IV' fan meeting tour, frequently flying between Mainland China and Hong Kong as a 'frequent flyer.' He said that his wife and daughter both understand and support his work, but his 4-year-old son doesn't like it when daddy goes to work. Every time he sees him leaving, he shouts: 'So weird!' leaving Pakho both amused and exasperated.
On the 28th, Pakho Chau came to Malaysia to attend a NIVEA skincare brand event, interacting with fans through games, taking photos, and dishing out plenty of benefits. He even personally demonstrated makeup removal, skincare, and makeup for a female model, sending fans into a frenzy. He laughed and said this wasn't his first time doing this: 'I often help my daughter do her makeup!' But his wife hasn't let him try on her, 'She's more particular, but I have helped her apply lotion, and during pregnancy I helped her apply cream to her belly and hair.'
Talking about participating in 'Call Me by Fire' again after three years, he smiled, saying he felt both excited and challenged. This time, he is leading the 'Greater Bay Boys Team' as captain, together with Julian Cheung (Cheung Chi-lam), Jordan Chan (Chan Siu-chun), and Jerry Lamb (Lam Hiu-fung). He said with a laugh: 'They are all my seniors and idols. There are many things that you can't just say as captain; you need to communicate in the right way. I still have a lot to learn.' As for stamina, he admitted that performing on stage is fine, but the show takes 4 to 5 months to record, with each session lasting a week or two. Adding in the tour and taking care of family, it is quite tiring: 'So now I try to catch up on sleep whenever I can, like sleeping on the plane or in the car.'
Even though he is busy, he still describes himself as being in '100% state': 'I am very grateful. I am 40 years old this year, with parents above and kids below, plus a team and family who love me dearly. I feel surrounded by love every day. When there is work, I put my all into it; when resting, I spend time with family. This is the state I enjoy most.'
When asked if his family ever 'complains' that he is too busy, Pakho Chau laughed and said his daughter is already very sensible. He uses her favorite Disney characters to explain: 'I told her, Minnie Mouse goes to work at Disney every day and brings joy to everyone. Daddy is the same, singing and dancing to bring happiness. If daddy doesn't go to work, he'll become useless and unhappy, and she immediately understood.' But his son just refuses to accept it: 'He likes superheroes, and superheroes don't have to go to work every day! So every time I leave, he says it's 'so weird' for me to go to work. Because that's one of the only phrases he knows: whenever something's bad, he says 'so weird.' It's very funny.' As for his wife, she continues to support him unconditionally.
As for whether the 'CHAPTER IV' tour will come to Malaysia, he responded: 'It's under consideration! Malaysia is definitely a place I really want to visit for every tour because everyone here is very supportive. For me, there's a lot of love here and I have to come back to give back to everyone. But the timing will probably be next year, as this year's schedule is already packed.' Will he bring his family along? He laughed and said there is a big chance: 'I've said many times that I want to bring the kids to Malaysia, but never had the chance. If it coincides with the school holidays, I'll bring them to enjoy good food and have some fun.'
