During an exchange with the cast and crew, Penang Hungry Ghost Festival Association president Ye Fuken said that the charm of Penang's Hungry Ghost Festival lies in its unique cultural fusion and visual feast. The exquisite paper-mâché giant deities and the traditional style of the rituals add a rich cultural flavor to the festival.

Penang's multicultural background makes the Hungry Ghost Festival celebrations more inclusive, attracting the attention of various ethnic groups. It not only promotes local economic development but also enables friends from all over the world to understand and appreciate Chinese traditional culture.d

He believes that "Da Bo," a film interweaving folk beliefs and supernatural elements, will become a new benchmark for Malaysian Chinese-language thriller films.

"Da Bo" tells the mysterious and eerie connection between Tua Ya Pek, the White Impermanence, and a child medium. Tua Ya Pek is an underworld deity widely worshiped by Malaysian Chinese, especially in the Hokkien community.

The entire film will use Chinese and Hokkien as its main languages, immersing the audience in deep folk culture and religious emotions, as if experiencing a shocking journey crossing between the realms of the living and the spirit world.
