(Bandar Seri Begawan, 7th Jan) The Brunei Taiwan Alumni Association is scheduled to hold a Chinese New Year celebration and the 2024 Outstanding Student Awards ceremony on February 16, 2025 (Sunday).
The event will start at 10 am on February 16, 2025, at the banquet hall on the 8th floor of the Mulia Hotel. Alumni who studied in Taiwan are cordially invited to attend with their families to celebrate together. Alumni and students who need the association to arrange transportation are requested to inform the contact person of the pick-up location as soon as possible.
Members or permanent members' descendants whose academic performance meets any of the following criteria are eligible to apply. The application procedure for the Outstanding Student Award is as follows:
1) Kindergarten and primary school leavers achieving first, second, or third place in the year-end results or an overall average of 85 points or grade A.
2) Secondary school leavers achieving first, second, or third place in the year-end results or an overall average of 80 points.
3) Passing the PSR Primary School Education Certificate examination and obtaining 5A, 4A1B, 4A1C, or above 3A2B.
4) Passing the SPE Lower Secondary Education Certificate examination with scores above 80 points in five subjects. Four of these must be core subjects: Malay, English, Mathematics, Science, and any other elective subject.
5) Passing the GCE "O" Level examination with a score not exceeding 12 points in eight subjects or not exceeding 10 points in six subjects.
6) Passing the GCE "A" Level examination with at least one grade A and one grade B.
7) Passing the I.B. (International Baccalaureate) examination with a score above 30 points.
8) Graduates of tertiary institutions (diploma, bachelor's, master's, or doctorate) from the previous year who have received a graduation certificate.
9) Applicants' conduct performance must be grade B or above.
10) Year-end results of 95 points or above in individual subjects for secondary and higher grade levels.
