The health department of Yemen's 'Youth Movement' issued a statement on the 5th, stating that US and Israel airstrikes on Yemen's Al Hudaydah province have resulted in at least 2 deaths and 42 injuries.
The statement pointed out that the casualties were workers at a cement factory and nearby residents in the Bajil district, located in the eastern part of Al Hudaydah province.
Earlier, Al-Masirah TV, controlled by the 'Youth Movement', reported that the US and Israel launched at least 48 airstrikes on Al Hudaydah province, targeting the airport in the provincial capital of Al Hudaydah city, a cement factory, and several military bases. The airstrikes destroyed cranes, cargo, warehouse buildings, fuel tanks, and a power plant at Al Hudaydah port.
Local residents told the media that almost all facilities at Al Hudaydah port have been destroyed or damaged. Several private factories were also destroyed in the airstrikes.
On the other hand, the Israel Defense Forces issued a statement confirming that Israeli military aircraft carried out airstrikes on the 5th targeting 'Youth Movement' targets in coastal and inland areas of Yemen, in response to the organization's recent multiple missile and drone launches towards Israel. The airstrikes hit multiple infrastructure sites at the Al Hudaydah port under the control of the 'Youth Movement' and also targeted the Bajil cement factory east of Al Hudaydah city.
The statement said that the cement factory is both an important economic source for the 'Youth Movement' and is used for constructing underground tunnels and other military facilities. The operation aimed to weaken the 'Youth Movement's' economic capability and military construction.
