Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Gharibabadi announced on Wednesday that Iran would hold a new round of talks with the United Kingdom, France, and Germany on January 13.

According to reports from the Iranian news agency, Gharibabadi revealed the information to the media while attending a commemoration event for Iranian senior commander Soleimani.

Gharibabadi said, “As we have said before, this is only a dialogue, not a negotiation.”

He stated that the new round of dialogue aims to clarify relevant issues and conduct further consultations to determine the framework and manner in which future negotiations should take place, if held.

On November 29, 2024, Iran held talks with diplomats from the United Kingdom, France, and Germany in Geneva, Switzerland, focusing on Iran's nuclear issue. On the same day, Gharibabadi stated on social media that the parties had a “frank exchange” on Iran’s nuclear issue and matters related to lifting sanctions. Iran is committed to safeguarding the interests of its people and prefers to resolve issues through dialogue and engagement. All parties agreed to continue diplomatic dialogue in the near future.
