(Kuching, 24th) Sarawak Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Amar Douglas considers Christmas a time of giving and receiving, and on this special day, he is pleased to reveal that Prime Minister Abang Johari has once again generously agreed to donate RM 110 million in 2025 to other religious units (UNIFOR).

As the head of this unit, Douglas expressed his gratitude on behalf of others in his Christmas message today for Abang Johari's wonderful gift, which demonstrates the Prime Minister's compassion, care, and concern for all Sarawakians.

In fact, he mentioned that this substantial allocation is a godsend, as it will once again support other religious units in completing their tasks, assisting in the construction, repair, and beautification of more religious sites, while also maintaining no fewer than 20 religious schools across Sarawak.

Certainly, this is a very welcome Christmas gift for Christians and the most anticipated New Year blessing for everyone else.

According to records, at the end of this year, other religious units also received the same allocation, enabling them to assist 242 different religious sites with RM 90 million, with another RM 20 million allocated for religious schools.

Douglas admitted that with the new funds, other religious units will have a solid foundation to reach more people in need.

“This is a leader's continued act of generosity, and I hope all beneficiary groups make good use of these funds and achieve the intended purposes within the specified time so that their followers can worship comfortably.”

On the other hand, Douglas also called on the public to take the opportunity of the upcoming Christmas to commit to strengthening unity and harmony by visiting each other, despite Sarawak being a diverse place with different races and beliefs.
