Charmaine Sheh Talks About Progress of "The Queen of News 2" – Focusing on Script and Family Life

Charmaine Sheh attended an electrical appliance flagship store opening event on Thursday (June 18), where she discussed the progress of "The Queen of News 2" and her plans for future projects, while also revealing her considerations regarding scripts and family arrangements.

Reporters mentioned that the cast of the "Man Family Army" from "The Queen of News 2" celebrated her birthday at the end of May, with Louis Koo making a surprise appearance. Charmaine explained that she had previously suffered from vocal cord inflammation, so the celebration was postponed three times before it finally happened.

As for whether she might collaborate with Louis Koo in film, she said work wasn't discussed that day, but she would support his concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum in August and joked, "I must sit in the first row."

Charmaine revealed that during the gathering, the cast had discussed whether to make "The Queen of News 3". She emphasized that the key lies in the quality of the script: “The most important thing is the script. We shouldn't film just for the sake of filming; this time, we want to consider what message we can bring to the audience.”

She also mentioned that "The Goddess of Justice 2" is being considered with similar caution about its direction, though she believes the subject matter is relatively easier to create, since real-life social cases are worth focusing on.

On her criteria for choosing scripts, she expressed the hope of trying roles she hasn't played before and looks forward to working with actors she has not yet collaborated with. She also hopes that her future projects can mostly be filmed in Hong Kong.

She admitted she hopes to stay in Hong Kong more to accompany her mother: “I’ll feel more assured this way. If I go out for filming, I’ll be worried. After all, my mother is getting older and needs care. I hope she can feel more at ease at home.”
